UKRAINIANS SECURED 8 MEDALS AT INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAN IN KAZAKHSTAN

Eight Ukrainian pupils won medals at XI International Zhautykov Olympiad on mathematics, physics and informatics held on January 11-17, in Almaty (Kazakhstan Republic).

The gold was captured by Natalia Khotiaytseva, Anton Tryhub (mathematics) and Eugen Kazmin (informatics), the silver was won by Denis Nartsev (mathematics), Danilo Lebyd, Victor Miroshnichenko and valentin Visyn (physics) and bronze went to Vadim Prokopets (informatics).

Ukrainian team was represented by the pupils of Ukrainian Physics and Matemetics Lyceum under Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv-Pechersk Lyceum №171 'Leader' and Kyiv School 'Academia'.

According to the Olympiad results Ukrainian team took second place in non-official rating.

Fifty-nine teams (391 participants) from 15 countries took part in the Olympiad.
