Ukrainian songs could be heard in Abu Dhabi

A second-year student at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), flutist Irina Nadyukova (born in Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Volyn region) gave her first concert in Abu Dhabi.

Irina performed both the world classical hits and compositions by Ukrainian authors. In particular, during the concert the audience heard works by composers of the German Baroque era, Brazilian classics and Ukrainian songs, 'Chervona Ruta' by Volodymyr Ivasyuk and 'Chaika' by Sviatoslav Vakarchuk.

The Ukrainian musician comments her choice to play Ukrainians songs, 'I played 'Chervona Ruta' because this song is a symbol of Ukrainian culture. 'Chaika' is a song of hope and faith in spring to come despite hard times. I believe that spring will come to my Ukraine'.

Irina's performance was rather successful, the event brought together representatives of the Ukrainian community in the UAE, Ukrainian diplomats and music lovers from around the world.
