UKRAINIAN MOVIE MAY RECEIVE GOLDEN CAMERA OF CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
Ukrainian movie The Tribe by Myroslav Slaboshpitskiy film director will fight for one of the most 67 Cannes Film festival awards to be held on May 14-25, 2014.
The film tells about young Serhiy who in attempt to take his independent niche in school for deaf hierarchy joins deaf criminal organization Tribe and participates in robberies. Love to the arch villain’s woman challenges Serhiy to oppose all criminal organization. The movie is made in hand language, neither sign language interpretation nor voice-over is available. The main characters are non professional actors with hearing disorders.
Leaving behind more than 1200 competitors The Tribe has become one of the nominees for Critics’ Week award. The movie director runs for Golden Camera best full-length debut.
