Ukrainian-Polish air trainings to be held in 2014


May-July, 2014 Ukraine and Poland will participate in the international aviation unit trainings 'Safe Heaven - 2014'.

Ukraine plans to send five air brigades (Ivano -Frankivsk, Vasylkiv, Myrhorod air crews and Vinnytsia and Boryspil air transport aviation brigades) and train such planes as Su-27, MiG-29, L-39, AN-26 and Mi-8 helicopters. On preliminary information, the Republic of Poland will send about 120 men and train F-16, 4-6 and 2-4 MiG-29.

The first tactical aviation unit trainings (for the whole history of the Air Force of Ukraine) on airspace protection, air countering terrorism, aerial targets intercepting, assist to aircraft in different force majeure were held in 2011, Myrhorod, Poltava region. The co-participants in the event were the Alabama State tactical aviation and the National Guard of the United States from California.
