STATUE OF KYIV RUS FOLK HERO HAS BEEN OPENED IN CHERNIHIV

A new-open statue received a name Ilya Muromets, Folk Tales Hero.

According to a legend he was living in Chernihiv kingdom territory.

The statue height is 2.85 m, statue material is oak wood.

The hero is looking at the Ukraine-Russia border.

Thus the statue turns into a symbol of courage and demonstration that Ukrainian heroes will always stand for Ukrainian integrity and inviolability protecting it from any danger.

The author of the sculpture Andriy Stetsenko has been working at it about a year.

He dedicated his work to his father Boris Stetsenko a rather famous person in Chernihiv.

Boris Stetsenko has made for the city about 100 wooden sculptures, was the best carver, singer of local musical theater and golden tenor of Ukraine.
