School student from Zakarpattia Oblast makes paper breakthrough

Valentyn Frechka from the village of Sokyrnytsia (Zakarpattia Oblast) has invented a technology to make paper from fallen leaves.

During the year the young man gathered leaves of birch, willow, oak and hornbeam, and then turned them into cellulose and made paper afterwards.

As the young inventor says the paper is suitable for 'eco' packages. Valentyn's technology can also solve the problem of fallen leaves recycling.

This very project brought the young man a gold medal at the 2018 International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology in Tunisia.

Now Valentyn is preparing for the International Ecology Olympiad in Kenya, in June he will presente the project at the Genius Olympiad 2018 in the United States.
