Priest from Enerhodar paints glowing icons
Father Oleksandr Varnytskyi, pastor of the parish chapel of St.Joseph the Betrothed of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Enerhodar (Zaporizhizhia Oblast), paints icons that glow.
The works are unique for their material: they are written on glass with special chalk causing the icons to glow when light rays shines upon the glass. Due to the main component, limestone, the icons also look great during the whole day. Interestingly, they please the eye both of praying parishioners and the ones passing by the house chapel as well.
The priest says that such unique icons were painted because of small rooms that could not allow to put them on a traditional place.
