Poland and Ukraine are intensifying in tourism cooperation


Representatives of Lviv region attended the conference 'Geo-Carpathians - the possibility of cognitive tourism in the Carpathians', a part of 'Geo- Carpathians – Creating a Polish-Ukrainian Tourist Route' program.

Special attention of the participants was paid to the development of cognitive and ecological tourism on the Ukrainian-Polish borderland providing preservation of geological heritage and rational use of tourism opportunities of the Carpathians.

'Geo- Carpathians' is a project to create and develop international geological tourism. The project concept is based on the principles of sustainable tourism development and preservation of the natural heritage of the Carpathians.

The geological tourist route length is 700 km is stretching along Krosno and Przemysl subregions (province of Poland), Lviv and Ivano- Frankivsk regions.

The project is implemented by Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in partnership with the Stanisław Pigon State Higher Vocational School in Krosno in the framework of the European Union on Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013.
