Man who saved Winston Churchill's life
Yuriy Budyak, commander of one of the Boer units during the Boer War (South Africa) in 1899-1902 saved a young English journalist from execution. The journalist's name was Winston Churchill.
Being saved, Winston helped Yuriy to enter the Oxford University and his father paid for the Ukrainian's study.
In 1917, Yuri worked in the government of the Ukrainian People's Republic. In 1943 Yuri Budyak died in a Soviet concentration camp.
