KIEVAN RUS EPOCH TO BE REENACTED NEAR KYIV

August, 15-16 'The Bylinas of Ancient Kiev of the IX – XI centuries' festival is held in "The Kievan Rus Park" (Kyiv Oblast). Members of Ukrainian and foreign historic reenactment clubs will set a camp which will work under certain rules: the residents will have to wear original historical costumes (from chain armor to tiny button or women accessories), cook on open fire using just ingredients which existed in Kievan Rus, sleep on hay, demonstrate folk crafts, sing folk songs etc.

The festival agenda includes great battles, workshops on needle weaving, leather wear, chain armor weaving, glass beads. The festival guests will be able to play ancient active games, lapta, kubb, other table games (tavlei etc.).

The lovers of souvenirs and unusual accessories will get a chance to attend a fair and buy beautiful things made from natural materials, true historical accessories, dishware, leather belts, purses etc.

Admission ticket is 150 Hr, for pensioners and students – 75 Hr, school-age kids – 50 Hr, and free for preschools. The discount tickets can be purchased at parkkyivrus.com.
