GERMAN AUDIENCE LIKED UKRAINIAN SHORT MOVIE 'THE ROAD'

Ukrainian 20-minute short movie The Road gained audience award Liberté-Audience Award at the 30th International Short Movies festival in Hamburg (Germany).

The movie tells about the life of teenager Zhenya who lives in a small Ukrainian village. The main character and his friend choose a dangerous amusement: they like to ride a wheel-chair tied to a truck. During these 'short trips' Zhenya, being neglected by his father, meets a person who is perfect to take this place in his life.

The main character of the movie is played by Zhenya from Boyarka city (Kyiv region) who was abandoned by his parents and adopted in the USA.

The Road was financed and filmed by order of Ukraine’s Movie State Agency. The movie budget is about UAH 1 million.
