Europe's solidarity with Ukraine in literary events

As a sign of solidarity with Ukraine writers of Germany, Austria and Switzerland will start all their events (this March) with reading some texts by contemporary Ukrainian writers. The action is coordinated by the Literary workshop in Berlin.

The Literary workshop in Berlin representatives are sure that modern Ukrainian literature is 'one of the most polyphonic and life-full in Europe'. This fact can be proven by the work of such writer as Yuriy Andrukhovych, Andriy Bondar, Andriy Kurkov, Mary Matios, Oksana Zabuzhko, Serhiy Zhadan etc.

The initiative was also supported by the Literary Center in Göttingen, Literary Colloquium in Berlin, Literary houses in Basel, Salzburg and Stuttgart, Buchbund Polish bookstore (Berlin) and the Association of German translators of literary and scientific works.

The works of contemporary Ukrainian writers can be also heard in the program "tranzyt. 2,014 kilometers. Literature from Poland, Ukraine and Belarus' held in the framework of Leipzig literary fair to be organized on March,13-16.
