EMBROIDERED BOXING GLOVES MADE BY YOUNG UKRAINIAN

February,24 - March, 24 an exhibition 'Peacemaking' by Vinnytsia artist Anatoliy Haystruk is being held at Art Center and Art Shop RUTA. This exhibition is a a kind of artist’s contribution into the work of peace. The exhibition is a part of the project 'Peacemaking. Route of Hope'.

The exhibition visitors will see 23 pairs of hand-embroidered boxing gloves. The number 23 symbolizes the years of Ukraine’s Independence.

The first work of Anatoliy was the glove dedicated to Ukrainian boxers’ victory at Olympic Games 2012 in London. It is bigger than the usual one and decorated with hand-embroidery. The embroidered ornament represents ancient Ukrainian symbols – eight-angle star (the symbol of Universe harmony and order), endless (symbol of harmony and movement), oak tree and acorn (man’s power, honor, loyalty, longevity and future generations).
Anatoliy’s gloves were showcased at International Art Fairy 'Art Monaco – 2013' and Modern Art Exhibition at Cote d'-Azur.
