EASTER DECOUPAGE BY THE HANDS OF KHMELNYTSKYI MASTER
Vira Shymilina can turn Easter eggs into a real art object. Her masterpieces are created in decoupage technique.
'I like all techniques of Easter eggs decorating, however, decoupage is my favourite. Decoupage doesn’t require any specific or expensive materials', the master comments.
All you need is a hard-boiled egg, raw egg white, decoupage napkins with Easter ornaments and wide brush.
A hard-boiled egg must be cooled and dried. The lower layer of decoupage napkins is removed (an upper layer is used in decoupage), the ornament is cut out with scissors. An ornament is put on the egg and carefully covered with raw egg white (from the middle of the napkin to the edges of the ornament).
'First, I cover half of the ornament area, leave the egg to dry. Then I start working on other eggs. Later I work on another side of the egg. The egg white serves as lacquer and glue', Vira says.
